Pipes come in many different shapes and sizes. The following is a guide collected by the alt.smokers.pipes newsgroup. There may be other shapes but the ones below are the common ones.
Depending on your taste you'll most likely find a particular shape fits your needs and favourite tobacco best. Personally I prefer Dublin, poker and billard shapes. These please my eye as well and my tobacco taste. I usually have 1 particular pipe for a specific tobacco type/taste. But there are some I mix.
